The Conifer Conundrum
Nina is a vibrant and friendly Italian lady, originally from Sardinia. She has been receiving care from Gardiner’s Homecare for over a year. Nina’s team are deeply fond of her. They strive to help Nina maintain as much independence as possible.
Our team help Nina to get out and about in her local community. Nina enjoys her trips out to the shops with her carers. She is also keen on gardening and so likes to visit the local garden centres.
Outside of her Reading home, Nina has potted conifers. One of these was suffering – no reflection of Nina’s green fingers!
Determined to find a suitable replacement, Nina’s carer, Tina, accompanied her on a shopping expedition. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t locate the perfect conifer locally. Bex, another dedicated carer, took the initiative to explore nurseries further afield. After diligent research, she discovered a nursery boasting an impressive variety of conifers.
The Taste of Success
Accompanied by Bex, Nina embarked on a quest to find a conifer that would bring joy back to her doorstep. Together they visited the nursery and discovered a wide selection of options. Nina carefully considered her choices before selecting the perfect conifer.
During their outing, Nina and Bex took a detour through the food hall, indulging in a delightful sampling of local cheeses.
Caring for the conifer
To ensure the newly acquired conifer thrived, Nina wanted to buy some compost. Accompanied by Kirsty, another Gardiner’s carer, Nina purchased some great value compost, then upon returning home, the plant was lovingly potted.
