A Family Legacy: Gardiner’s Homecare’s Proud Ownership

At Gardiner’s Homecare, we take immense pride in our long history.  We have been providing exceptional in-home care services to residents of Reading, Henley, and South Oxfordshire. This rich history is deeply intertwined with our family ownership, which has fostered a commitment to compassionate care for over five decades.

Founded on Family Values:

Our story began in 1968 with the vision of Dorothy Gardiner MBE. Driven by a passion for supporting people in their own homes, Dorothy, alongside her husband Gus and their children, built the foundation of Gardiner’s Homecare. The business thrived under their leadership, becoming a cornerstone of care in the local community.

Passing the Torch:

The legacy of care continued within the family. As Dorothy’s grandson, I, John-Joe Cottam, had the privilege of witnessing the dedication and compassion that defined Gardiner’s Homecare. In 2011, my wife and I took the helm, purchasing the business and ensuring its continued success.

A Modern Structure:

To support our growth and navigate the changing landscape of caregiving, we transitioned Gardiner’s from a family partnership to a limited company – Gardiner’s Homecare Limited. This move ensured the business could operate effectively while staying true to its core values.

A Tradition of Caring Continues:

While the ownership structure has evolved, the essence of Gardiner’s Homecare remains unchanged. We are still a family-oriented business, and the well-being of our clients and caregivers is paramount. We believe this strong foundation allows us to maintain the personalized and compassionate care that has been our hallmark for generations.

Thank you for being part of the Gardiner’s Homecare family. We look forward to continuing to serve our community with excellence for many years to come.
