We’re thrilled to share a heartwarming story about one of our cherished clients, Jo. Her journey with Gardiner’s Homecare has been truly inspiring, and we’re delighted to highlight the positive impact our care has had on her life.
Seeking support from Gardiner’s
When Jo’s son sought additional support to help his mother maintain her independent lifestyle, Gardiner’s Homecare was delighted to assist. We had been recommended to Jo’s son by the daughter of a former client amongst others. Our family-owned business, with a strong reputation for consistent care, was the perfect fit.
Settling into receiving support
After settling into her new routine with our care team, Jo was visited by her Care Manager, Leanne. Jo expressed how well the visits had been going. She found comfort and reassurance in their companionship and particularly enjoyed her shopping trips with our wonderful carer, Hannah.
When asked, Jo shared that one of her greatest passions was swimming. An accomplished athlete, she had been Berkshire champion 7 times in a row! Up until a few years ago, Jo had been swimming 40 lengths 3-4 times a week. Sadly, Jo had been unable to continue this beloved activity.
Reigniting a passion
Determined to bring back the joy of swimming back to Jo’s life, we worked closely with Jo, her son, and our dedicated team to make it happen. With Hannah’s unwavering support, Jo took her first steps back into the pool after more than three years.
With a mix of excitement and apprehension, accompanied by Hannah, Jo took her first steps back into the pool. Thanks to Hannah’s unwavering support, she quickly regained her confidence and fell back in love with swimming. The weekly swim is the highlight of Jo’s week. Jo’s son is overjoyed to see his mother’s happiness and well-being restored.
This story is a testament to the positive impact that compassionate care can have on someone’s life. We are incredibly proud of our team for going above and beyond to make a difference.
