Providing a friendly face and companionship is so important to our team and our clients – Gardiner’s has always avoided and taken a stand against the dreadfully short visits that have plagued social care in recent years.
Our care managers take time to match nurses or carers with clients that will work well together, perhaps with shared interest or backgrounds. We always seek to ensure that our team has sufficient time to both support our clients with the help that they need and still enjoy a relaxed conversation. We also constantly work to maintain a small, regular team of nurses and carers for each client. By doing this, we facilitate the building of trust between care staff and clients something which often leads to genuine friendships.
Companionship can be key to maintaining quality of life, it is certainly really important to providing care in a dignified way and support clients to lead lives that are as independent as possible.
