The Berkshire Care Association (BCA) Care Awards are a celebration of care in all CQC registered Adult social care settings. The Homecare Awards recognise and promote best practice, dedication and support that staff dedicate to the people they serve across Berkshire. Whether delivering direct care or ensuring a service runs smoothly behind the scenes, the BCA wants to celebrate the contribution and the difference made to others’ lives everyday.
Nominations for awards are welcome from service users, their family and friends, and colleagues inside and outside your organisation.

Categories include:
Homecare Worker Award
This Award is open to individuals working for a domiciliary care provider. It will recognise a homecare worker who consistently provides outstanding care and compassion to their clients and has a willingness to develop and go the extra mile.
Leadership Award
This Award is open to individuals working as a manager, team leader or other leadership position. It will recognise a person who provides great leadership and support. They will demonstrate a passion and drive, lead by example and consistently aim to improve and raise standards within their service.
Newcomer to Care Award
This Award will acknowledge and celebrate a person who has been working for a social care provider for less than 12 months. Someone already demonstrating a real passion and commitment to caring and supporting the people they work with.
Behind the Scenes Award
This Award is open to individuals and teams. It will recognise the often ‘unsung hero(es)’ who also provide excellent, person-centred services. They demonstrate dignity and respect through their ancillary role. We are looking for nominees in a supporting role who make a real contribution to improving the quality of the lives of the people their organisation supports. Perhaps gardeners, domestics, laundry assistants, handyperson, bus driver, administrator/receptionist.
Long-Service Award
This Award is open to individuals and recognises a person who has made an outstanding contribution to a service and has been working in that service for 10+ years.
Inspiration Award
This award is open to a person, team or organisation that has been an inspiration to others through their commitment to providing excellence in social care.
